Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs At The Mayflower

Wednesday 20 December 2017

It's Panto Season! Who doesn't love a good panto this time of year? This year the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton are showing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I may be a little bias, but I'm yet to see a show at the Mayflower that hasn't been a good one. I went along with a few fellow SotonBloggers to see this years panto and boy, oh boy were we in for a treat.

NYX In Your Element | Fire

Sunday 26 November 2017

I'm a sucker for a good eyeshadow palette, which would explain my unnecessarily large collection. I'm also a sucker for anything that is associated with astrology and the elements of astrology too. I've always been very interested in the studies of astrology and how planets and motions are believed to have a direct influence on a persons character. I read up about my zodiac sign and element, call me stupid, but I've read definitions behind each and find myself nodding along thinking yeah, that's me. So once I clocked the NYX In Your Element collection hidden away in the Boot's Christmas shop area, I picked up the Fire palette with out even looking at the shades.

Tea Revv | Tea 24 Advent Calendar

Wednesday 22 November 2017

I'm about to sound like the worst blogger ever but, beauty advent calendars just don't do it for me, tea on the other hand most definitely will. I had never heard of a loose leaf tea advent calendar until an email from *Tea Revv popped up in my inbox, who could say no to perfectly spiced seasonal tea? Not me!

Latest In Beauty | A Build Your Own Beauty Box

Wednesday 15 November 2017

From since I can remember, I've been umming and ahhing about trying out a beauty box sub. Are they worth the money? Do you actually get good products? Is it all just samples? Luckily for me *Latest In Beauty got in touch to see if I would like to try out one of their beauty boxes and even pick the products myself.

Lush Christmas Haul

Wednesday 25 October 2017

Yeah, that's right. I'm mentioning Christmas and I am not sorry about it. I actually originally made this order the day the range went live in September, so I did hold off for a while. I have now used up all these products and have repurchased all of them since. I'm not sure why, but this year the Halloween collection just wasn't calling my name at all, so I skipped that and went straight to the Christmas delights that are on offer this year.

The Latest In My Sheet Mask Collection

Sunday 22 October 2017

If you follow me on Instagram you'd know that I am a big fan of a sheet mask. I can sniff a new one out a mile off. People message me for recommendations or even to let me know about a sheet mask they love. Some say it's an out of control problem, I think it's perfectly fine to have a giant collection that I ended up having to buy storage for, totally fine.

Soap & Glory | The Mask Force

Sunday 17 September 2017

If there's a new collection of face masks you can guarantee I'm straight on it. Everyone has their beauty weakness and mine is well and truly face masks. Honestly, my collection overwhelms me but I'm still going to pick a couple up next time I find myself wondering around my local drugstore. I will try any face mask on offer, but I do lean towards a good sheet mask. I had popped into my local Boots a couple of times for these masks but there was only the odd one there. After having a bit of a bad day I popped into Boots just to get a drink and almost walked past the whole collection, cue a double take and a little inside happy dance. I grabbed them all, totally forgot the drink though.

Primark Beauty Haul

Wednesday 6 September 2017

I know, a beauty haul from Primark! I've found myself browsing around their beauty section a lot but never picking anything up. I've been dubious about buying anything because it's Primark, but if you don't try it you'll never know if you've missed out on a goodun. I think the fact I started to see more and more people hopping on the PS... beauty hype made me cave. But then again, it didn't really break the bank so why not?

August Favourites

Wednesday 30 August 2017

It feels like it's been forever since I last did a favourites post, which then made it difficult to widdle down to a small number of items. I won't lie, I am the worst person where money is concerned so I am constantly trying new products. But I'm also super lucky to be sent some items to try out too. If you've read my previous favourites posts then you'll know I'm super good and not just sticking to a beauty bundle, I always seem to manage to have at least one product that isn't even slightly related to beauty.

Lush Haul

Sunday 27 August 2017

I recently got to attend the Sneek Peek event of Southampton's brand new Lush store, we left with a goodie bag while also having a chance to have a little shop ourselves too. It would be rude not to do a little haul post of all the treats I ended up coming home with even though I definitely didn't need to add to my collection at all.

L'Oreal Bright & Blemish Rescue Pure Clay Masks

Sunday 20 August 2017

It's no secret that I am a lover of L'Oreal's skin care, specially their pure clay collection which is full of masks and face washes dedicated to easing certain skin issues. I popped into my local drugstore and clocked these two new additions that I didn't even have a clue were being released. So obviously they came home with me, specially as they were the only two there.

Pixi Peel And Polish

Sunday 13 August 2017

You may have been living under a rock if you haven't seen any of Pixi's new skincare making the rounds on social media. I'm a sucker for anything new, as soon as I see that word next to a product I need it in my life. The Peel & Polish resurfacing concentrate was calling out to me, so it was only right I tried it out.

Lush Southampton | Bigger And Better

Sunday 30 July 2017

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend the sneak peak opening of the brand new Lush Southampton store and boy, oh boy was it a treat! I think a lot of people will agree when I say this new store has been long awaited. As much as I loved popping into the old tiny store that had been there since I was little, this move was needed.

L'Oreal | Hydra Genius Aloe Water

Sunday 16 July 2017

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of anything super hydrating for the skin. I've recently been trying out a whole lot of L'Oreal skin care, to the point that I've pretty much switched my whole routine to their Fine Flowers collection which you can read about here. Along with that collection, I've been using the clay masks and washes and my skin has reacted well to all their products so far. So when I noticed the Hydra Genius Aloe Water doing the rounds on social media of course I was pulled in and went on the hunt to find the Dry & Sensitive version.

FrezyDerm | Sun Screen Velvet

Wednesday 12 July 2017

We all know sun protection is a must, whether its summer or winter I consciously buy products that have SPF in them already. Let's face it, even when the sun isn't at its strongest there's still the possibility that the sun is causing an effect on your skin. With this in mind, I've been giving FrezyDerm* a try through these last few weeks, and I have been pleasantly surprised by it.

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation

Sunday 2 July 2017
Okay, so the title really gives away this post, but I had to do a little write up for the All Nighter foundation. Finding foundations that work is a super hard task for me. I'm extremely pale, my skin is scarred and acne prone, and on top of that it can get rather dry at times. See why finding foundation is hard for me? Well, luckily I don't think I'm on the hunt anymore. Possible holy grail right here.

Yoga With ParkLives

Wednesday 28 June 2017

Yoga is something I've always wanted to try, but never actually went ahead and gave it a bash because I didn't think I would be coordinated enough to do it, until now. Alice and I got the chance to join in on a beginners class to see what ParkLives Southampton is all about.

Southampton Bloggers Brunch | Rogues Cafe

Sunday 18 June 2017

A couple of weekends ago Alice and I held a Soton Bloggers event and this time it was all about brunch. We were lucky enough to hold the brunch event at Rogues Cafe who offer a fab menu, there's something for everyone, including a cafe dog by the name of Percy who's all for the attention he gets. As it had been a while since there had been a large gathering of all the lovely people that get involved with Soton Bloggers, it was only right to meet some new and old faces over pancakes and smoothies.

Urban Decay | Naked Heat

Thursday 15 June 2017

Guess what landed in my hands this morning?! Forgive me for being so quick off of the mark with this post but I just had to share this new release from Urban Decay with you. Let's face it, if you knew about the pre sale of this palette on Monday, you were definitely joining in with the sweaty palms and heart palpitations trying to get hold of one. Naked Heat is the newest member of the Naked Palette family and my god am I glad this palette has arrived.

L'Oreal / Fine Flowers Collection

Wednesday 14 June 2017

I'm a firm believer in using skincare for a long enough period to see how it really works on the skin before reviewing it. I'm an absolute sucker for skincare, anything marked as new I instantly want it. But I'm now learning to control this bad habit of mine, mainly because I think I've finally found the skincare products that work for me. Finally. And that's saying something considering I'm prone to break outs and suffer with mild acne due to medication I take. Who would have thought it would be drugstore skincare that was the answer for me!?

Garnier SkinActive | Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask Collection

Sunday 28 May 2017

Now, we all know I love a bit of skincare goodness. I also am a sucker for anything marked as new. When the first moisture bomb tissue mask hit the stores, I grabbed a couple to try out. Which that soon became a weekly ritual. So it was only right that I tried out the whole collection, well...that's my excuse anyway.

Feel Good Movie Night

Wednesday 24 May 2017

Let's face it, there's nothing better than a movie night or a box set binge with an array of sweet treats. Whether you're having a night in on your own or you have a few friends round, it's a nice change from the usual pre drinks and dancing till you can't stand anymore. I've said it before, but it's always nice to have a break from social media, put your phone and laptop down for a while and just enjoy watching something without the distraction. If it's a me time night or a girls night in *HMV have you covered.

April Favourites

Sunday 14 May 2017

Another month, another favourites post! I can't not do one as I'm so spendy I always seem to find something new to love every month. Which has also now ended in me putting myself on a spending ban because I have no self control where beauty products are concerned. Not only did I find new things in stores that I love, I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of items that made my list too.

L'Osteria | Westquay Southampton

Wednesday 10 May 2017

Did Southampton really need another Italian restaurant? Yes, yes we did. I am a lover of Italian food and always have been, I've tried all the Italian restaurants in Southampton and we definitely don't have one that's up to the standard that *L'osteria has set. I missed the original opening night and heard so many good things from everyone that went, so I couldn't wait to try it out for myself.

Time To Switch Up For Spring

Wednesday 3 May 2017

It's finally that time to start adding a bit of colour into my life, and to slowly step away from the berry lips. Spring is my absolute favourite time of the year, and by the looks of instagram, everyone else is also enjoying the bloody beautiful blossom filled season. I kinda feel like a bad blogger because I don't actually have a shot of blossom on my insta feed.

Wonderland | The Mayflower Theatre

Wednesday 19 April 2017

I mean, who doesn't love Alice in Wonderland and all the wonderful films and productions that have come from the iconic girl that fell down a rabbit hole. I may have done a little happy dance when I found out the production us SotonBloggers had been invited to was *Wonderland, a musical adaption of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass.

March Favourites

Sunday 9 April 2017

A new month has rolled around, so of course that calls for another monthly favourites post right? Pretty much all of these products are new to me except one. Which it's only right I share my thoughts on my new faves! I try and keep these mainly beauty related but I'm really good a chucking something in there each month that isn't remotely beauty but deserves the praise. And yes, I will soon realise I need to stop buying new shit all the time, maybe.

Antipodes | Aura Manuka Honey Mask

Sunday 2 April 2017

Who isn't a lover of face masks? I've recently shared my love for Antipodes and their scientific organic beauty range. Since my first purchase I have a wish list as long as my arm and my collection is growing. You may have noticed through reading other blog posts of mine, I'm a bit of a skin care fan. My skin is blemish prone and scarred, so often, if something is advertised as helping blemished skin I jump straight on the band wagon.

Fair Skinned Foundation Problems

Sunday 19 March 2017

Let's face it, finding the right foundation can be an absolute nightmare sometimes. Specially if like me, you are super fair skinned. If the only way of me getting a certain foundation is by ordering it online with out colour testing, it's a no go. I've spent countless hours wondering around beauty counters to try and find the perfect match. And I still can't find it!

February Favourites

Wednesday 15 March 2017

Wouldn't be right to see a month pass and not do a round up of my faves would it? It's a little bit of a miss match of items this time round, a couple of old time favourites and a few new items that I've grown to love. I'm sure there's something in there for everyone.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Face Wash Collection

Sunday 12 March 2017

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if a beauty product is marked as a new product, I'll be buying it. I already have the whole Pure Clay Mask collection so it was only right that I got the new wash collection too. Just like the masks, it was a mare trying to find them all, but I did and I'm so glad about it.

Antipodes | Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream

Sunday 26 February 2017

Eye cream is something I've only recently introduced into my skincare regime. I was told that your skin starts to age from 25, so what with recently turning 25, I decided my skin needed that little extra care. I've always looked at eye creams and thought I didn't need them. But I definitely did. I trialled out a No7 skin care set that included an eye cream and I really noticed a difference. I had heard good things about Antipodes , so when I noticed it on Asos I popped it straight in my basket.

Frank Body Coffee Scrub

Sunday 19 February 2017

Ever tried a coffee scrub? I've tried most brands and always come back to Frank Body. If you follow me on instagram you would have seen me telling everyone that it's something they need to try. This scrub also features in my monthly favourites that went up last week. We all know taking care of all parts of your skin is important, but hard to keep up with. I'm a nightmare for sticking to routines but coffee scrub is one thing I religiously use. I end up so fricken soft!

Monthly Favourites

Wednesday 15 February 2017

You know you're buying too much shit when you can do a monthly faves post and it mostly all be new products. I'm so good at buying anything marked as new. I wish I could say these were necessary purchases, but they aren't. Although, they are good enough for you guys to know about them! So here's my monthly round up.

Billy Elliot The Musical at Mayflower Theatre

Thursday 9 February 2017

Visiting the theatre is something I've grown to love recently. Thanks to Mayflower Theatre*, little groups of us have been able to come and fall in love with the theatre experience all over again. Alice who runs SotonBloggers has teamed up with the guys over at The Mayflower Theatre to give us lucky lot a new experience with blogging. Yes the usual blog events are fun, but it's always nice to throw something in to mix it up. We all get to meet before hand, have something to eat, a catch up and chat about the production we're about to see. It's always fun to go with a mixed group because you can guarantee there's people that have seen the movie or read the book, or be like me and never watched or read anything to do with the production before. I was going to watch the movie, but a friend of mine that is very involved in theatre production told me the movie isn't as good as the production. So I decided to go in blind and enjoy the theatre production.

The Real Greek | Westquay Southampton

Sunday 29 January 2017

Not everyone gets a launch night perfect, but the guys at The Real Greek* did just that. A group of us SotonBloggers got the chance to go along to see what they are all about. From the moment I set my eyes on the decor, I fell in love. With the classic blue and white through out the restaurant, a wall with the back drop of the beautiful Santorini, even different crockery on the walls. If you have visited any Greek friends houses, you'd know about the crockery rules. You'd also know that Greek food is for sharing. Which is exactly what we did.

Thaikhun | Westquay Southampton

Monday 23 January 2017

Last week I was lucky enough to visit Thaikhun* twice for two different experiences, Thaikhun has only recently opened in Southampton in the new foodie area of Watermark. Its known for bringing a little corner of Thailand over to us, which there was definitely a space for it. Everyone working in there were so energetic and knowledgeable about the brand and what they stand for. I personally am a nightmare with food, I'm not every adventurous at all and I've never tried Thai food, specially not Thai street food, so I was looking forwards to trying it out. We also had the opportunity to partake in their Dry January event.

Makeup Revolution 144 Ultimate Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Thursday 19 January 2017

If you've read before, you may have caught my post on the shimmer version of this palette. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I absolutely love the products that Makeup Revolution have on offer. For the price the products retail at. they are so much better than you would expect. Over the Christmas period Makeup Rev had a lot on offer, this 144 ultimate matte eyeshadow collection being one of them. I won't lie, I ordered from tam beauty and it was an utter nightmare and as you may have noticed the product arrived with a cracked case, slightly disappointing. But once I was over that, I had a little play about and loved a majority of these shadows.

As I swatched the original palette I had, it was only right that I did another 144 swatches to show off the colours in this one. Since having both palettes I haven't reached for anything else for my eyes!

The Lush Masks My Face Loves

Sunday 15 January 2017

Don't you just feel like you've done Sunday right when a face mask has been involved?  My go to for extra refreshing face masks has always been trusty ol' Lush. They have something for everyone and every skin type. I'm yet to come across one that I don't like, but these 3 are my absolute favourites.

Dumpling Dumpling | Westquay Southampton

Wednesday 11 January 2017

A little group of us were lucky enough to be invited along to try out Dumpling Dumpling* located in what's better known as Westquay Watermark. Dumpling Dumpling aka Flavour Bombs as they are also known, is the brain child of Dan and Nat. You can tell their hearts and souls go into this and they have so much passion for what they are doing, just by having a little chat with Nat. The pair were living out in China teaching English, and that's where the love of dumplings grew. Nat's Chinese name was even Jiaozi, meaning dumpling in Mandarin! It was meant to be.

My 2016 Favourites

Sunday 8 January 2017

I couldn't start a new year and not do a round up of my favourite products that I've used time and time again over the past year. Some products I've used for the entire year, others have been picked up through out the last few months, but have quickly become a daily essential for me. There's a mixture of skincare and make up but each just as useful as the other.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks

Wednesday 4 January 2017

We've all seen people talking about Kat Von D Beauty, from the Tattoo Liner to the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. This A/W I've been a real fan of liquid lipsticks, so it was only right that I jumped on the KVD train and tried them for myself.
