Frank Body Coffee Scrub

Sunday 19 February 2017

Ever tried a coffee scrub? I've tried most brands and always come back to Frank Body. If you follow me on instagram you would have seen me telling everyone that it's something they need to try. This scrub also features in my monthly favourites that went up last week. We all know taking care of all parts of your skin is important, but hard to keep up with. I'm a nightmare for sticking to routines but coffee scrub is one thing I religiously use. I end up so fricken soft!

I personally absolutely hate coffee, so I always pick up a scented scrub to tone down the coffee stink. Frank body has scrubs in Original, Coconut, Cacao and Peppermint. I've only ever used the coconut as I find it just the right amount of coffee to coconut. Inside the 200G bag of goodness is, roasted and ground robusta coffee blend which scrubs away dry and flakey skin while targeting imperfections too. There's brown sugar, sea salt and coconut flakes that cleanse and clarify, with jojoba beads, grapeseed and coconut oils to soothe and moisturise. Sounds great doesn't it?

You can use this scrub 3-5 times a week to keep your skin in tip top condition, I normally go for 3 uses max as I have sensitive skin and too much rough scrubbing can make my skin a little unhappy. I started to use coffee scrubs about 2 years ago, and have used them every week ever since. I've always suffered with small patches of eczema on the tops of my arms but the scrub has completely controlled that now. You can actually use this on your face as its claimed to help acne, I've tried it a couple of times but I'm really good at getting the coffee grit in my eyes. So I'll be picking up their creamy face scrub with the hope that the formula has control over the grit.

When coffee scrubs first came about, they came with  A LOT  of promises such as curing acne, eczema, psoriasis while also targeting stretch marks and cellulite. I mean, lets face it, stretch marks and cellulite will always be around. You've got a shit load of products on the market promising to banish these. I've been using Frank Body for long enough now to be able to see a difference. Yes, the cellulite is still there, but a lot less prominent. Stretch marks? Yep, still there, but fading. These things will never disappear, they are natural to have. I'm surprised the coffee scrub actually helped if I'm honest.

Now, using the scrub is a bloody mess. Loose coffee in a wet bath tub? Shit sticks everywhere. I always use it at the end of my shower, so while my skin is still damp I pop some scrub on and rub in circular motions all over but concentrating on problem areas. Leave the coffee and oils to sit on your skin for 2-3 minutes. I never know how long I've left it on, could be 2 mins, could be 20. Not a clue. Once it's dried and been on for how ever long your body feels is 2-3 mins, have an extra little scrub then rinse off. Then spend about an hour cleaning the bath tub. Worth it though! You can instantly feel the results on your skin.

I love Frank Body because as a company they are so playful. If you post anything online of their products they are right there commenting something tongue and cheek. All their products and packaging are so simple, and honest, you know exactly what you're getting. All in all I am massively impressed with their products and I'm slowly growing a Frank Body skin care collection at the moment. Coffee face moisturiser definitely wakes you up!

Have you ever tried Frank?
