God's House Tower Southampton

Monday 2 December 2019
* Press evening*

Right then, get comfortable, it's going to be a long one! Southampton is bursting with history just waiting to be discovered, I always think if someone say's "Southampton is boring" then they most definitely have not been to the right places, there's so much to see & do as well as an abundance of history just on the doorstep. The most recent historic building that has been opened to the public is God's House Tower. The majority of my life has been spent in Southampton & I still stumble upon things I never knew existed & still learning about the vast history of the city, because there's a lot.

GHT is a new arts & heritage venue & I have to say, it's very unique. Think art gallery but far from the traditional type of gallery, everything has been jazzed up a little & somehow they've made a 700 year old building seem modern but without stripping it of its original glory. God's House Tower has been many things over the years including part of medieval defence, a place of refuge for pilgrims, the town jail, mortuary, mill & warehouse, Museum of Archaeology & now an arts & heritage venue.   Dan Crow & his team have spent 7 long years breathing life back into the 13th century gatehouse to gift it back to the public & wow, should we be grateful.

Wahaca - A Taste of Mexican Street Food

Sunday 24 November 2019
*Complementary Meal*

*Wahaca popped up in Southampton a while ago now but I've only recently visited & realised I am fully here for it. I've always loved Mexican food (even though my lactose intolerant body wishes I didn't) so I have no idea why it took me so long to try out their menu & when I did, I knew I would 100% be popping back. My most recent visit was with Southampton Bloggers to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos, although slightly late, while learning some Mexican history along the way.

PIXI Beauty Vitamin C Skincare Collection

Sunday 10 November 2019
*Gifted Products*

Well, looks like it's time for another PIXI Skincare Review. Honestly, when my postie turns up with a big old green box I always get excited because Pixi are always so, so generous with their pr & every delivery is guaranteed to not only look lovely but also be full of products just as lovely & I'm super lucky to receive them. As with any skincare collection, not every product is going to work for me but there will always be at least one that makes it onto my beauty shelves permanently.

Pho Restaurant - Vietnamese Street Food

Sunday 20 October 2019
* Complimentary meal *

I'm forever harping on about how amazing Southampton is for food but now it's time to show off one of the gems in Portsmouth. I do love hopping on a train & heading to Portsmouth for the day, as much as it's still a bustling city like my home town it's always a nice change to head to Gunwharf Quays as it's full of restaurants we don't have, including PHO!

Aveda Damage Remedy Hair Care

Tuesday 8 October 2019
* This post contains gifted items*

As much as we all like to take care of our hair, we also like it to look good which includes using heat & styling tools, sure it looks cute but wow does it cause some damage. I've been growing my hair out including the old dye job & was getting bored of what my hair was looking like, so off to the hairdressers I went to get some lighter colour in my hair...but that was achieved with bleach & my god did my hair have an absolute melt down. It was breaking, snapping & splitting, which I've never experience with my hair before so I was whacking all the treatments on my hair & then *Aveda got in touch to see if I wanted to try their Damage Remedy collection & it was perfect timing.

Foodie Fortnight at Bill's

Sunday 29 September 2019
*Complementary meal*

Foodie Fortnight is now in full swing! You might have read my post about Mango just before the two week event kicked off but this time around I've been to Bill's to give their menu a try. There's so many places to go grab a bite to eat in Southampton, but let's be real, if we go & try everything it's going to become costly, which is exactly why you need to be taking advantage of the Foodie Fortnight deals available.

Dermalogica's Age Bright Clearing Serum & Spot Fader

Saturday 21 September 2019
* This post contains gifted products*

I have been part of Dermalogica's skinfluencer programme for a while now & now 95% of products I use daily are theirs. When I started using their products my skin was at its worst, my acne was raging & my skin was painful, inflamed & scarring with every breakout that came along, I had been trying every product aimed at acne but nothing was doing the trick, lets not forget the ridiculous amount of money I had spent too. Since overhauling my entire skincare routine & switching to Dermalogica my skin has honestly never been so good.

Southampton Foodie Fortnight at Mango

Wednesday 18 September 2019
* Complementary meal*

It's almost time for Foodie Fortnight to kick off again in Southampton & now it's time for you to see why you need to be counting down the days until 23rd September ready to get redeeming all the deals that take your fancy.

We've always been lucky in Southampton as there has always been an array of restaurants to choose from, then add in all the new developments & we're spoilt for choice. I do love going out for a meal & often try new places but I still haven't got around to ticking them all off of my list, if you're the same as me, then Foodie Fortnight is our chance to try as many as we can fit in!

Dermalogica Eye Treatments

Monday 16 September 2019
* This post contains gifted items*

Once I hit 25 I realised I needed to be taking much more care of my eye area than I was, I'd use eye treatments but not religiously like I needed to start doing. Your skin can start to age from 25 & fine lines start to become visible. I've always had visible bags under my eyes but they've become a  bit puffier & the fine lines are appearing, so I turned to Dermalogica to find the right products for my skin.

Kinky Boots UK Tour at The Mayflower Theatre

Thursday 5 September 2019
** Press tickets**

It's been a minute since I was last able to pop along to the Mayflower Theatre for a review but the time has finally come to see Kinky Boots! I have this strange thing of ignoring the books and films that come before the theatre shows because I find the musicals that come after, so much more captivating, I don't know if its the performances the actors give or the atmosphere of being in an audience that makes me say that but, the shows will always be my favourite.

*Magnitone XOXO Silicone Cleansing Brush

Sunday 1 September 2019
* This post contains gifted products*

The lovely guys from Fuel PR sent me over the *Magnitone XOXO Silicone Cleansing Brush to try out a while ago now, but what with life getting ridiculously busy & me having to focus all my energy on my exams, I haven't got around to popping my review up just yet. I suppose the plus side to that is I've been using the cleansing brush for a while now so I can go in with this review!

Seaside in the Square 2019 - Press Event

Friday 26 July 2019
*Press Event*

It's that time again, when Southampton Guildhall Square becomes Seaside in the Square. The concrete square has been transformed into an Urban Beach for everyone to enjoy. I went along with Southampton Bloggers just before the tiki bar doors opened to Southampton ready for a little summer fun. We got up to a whole lot of fun seeing what the beach had in store for the city.

Dine at Mine with SHC at Lakaz Maman

Wednesday 15 May 2019

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Dine at Mine event at Lakaz Maman with Southampton Hospital Charity which involved an evening of chatting, games, a bit of fizz & a delicious menu of food cooked up by the Masterchef winner Shelina Permalloo. Whilst the evening was full of fun, its main reason was to show us exactly what the Dine at Mine events are really about.

Dine at Mine is a really fun and easy way for you to raise money for your local hospital (or even a specific department)  by having a few friends over or your family, you can do it as a community group or with your colleagues, basically anyone that enjoys food. May is the Dine at Mine month, so it would be great if some of you could get involved this month ideally but don't worry, it can be done at any time throughout the year.

PIXI Rose Infused Skintreats

Monday 29 April 2019

* This post contains gifted items*

The skincare pixies arrived at my door again with all the rose infused treats. Pixi Beauty has always been in my make up bag or on my beauty shelves for a long time now. I remember getting two Pixi eyeshadow palettes for my 18th birthday....I'm going to be 28 this year, so you could say I'm a fan of the brand. I was a little more reluctant to try their skincare though as the acids scared me off at first but Pixi skincare products have found their place in my routines now.

Things I'm Doing to De-Stress

Monday 22 April 2019
* This post contains affiliate links & gifted items*

Life is full of things that can knock you but finding your own ways to manage it is super important for your mind & body. The last year my stress levels have been here, there and everywhere, so I tried to find myself things that help me switch off and give me a minute to recharge. This has been something I've really needed to do & to make sure I incorporate them into my daily life. I know when I'm stressed out, it takes a real toll on me & my Epilepsy is triggered by stress, so I needed to find ways to deal with it.

My Troubled Skin Saviours

Sunday 3 February 2019
* This post contains some gifted items*

If you've read my blog before, you'd know my skin is a bit troublesome and it's something I am forever trying to find the right products for. Over the years I've found a few products that have done the trick for certain things, but not really tackled the real issues. I will say, I don't honestly think you will ever find an acne cure in the form of products, but you can find things that will help you along the way. These products have been in my skincare routine for months now, some even years, because I wanted to make sure they actually make any sort of improvement before whacking them in a blog post.

Discovering Pixi Tonics

Sunday 27 January 2019
*This post contains gifted items*

I have wanted to try so many of the Pixi skintreats for so long but I've always been a little put off by the whole acid for your skin situation. I have ridiculously sensitive skin & I just assumed I would react badly so I held off, until Pixi launched in Boots because all the products were discounted & I finally picked up a mini Glow Tonic for myself. I have since attended an 'Influencer Dinner' & ended up being gifted the whole tonic collection, I also came away with a whole lot of information about the products from some of the Pixi team & now I'm all about these tonics.
