Time To Switch Up For Spring

Wednesday 3 May 2017

It's finally that time to start adding a bit of colour into my life, and to slowly step away from the berry lips. Spring is my absolute favourite time of the year, and by the looks of instagram, everyone else is also enjoying the bloody beautiful blossom filled season. I kinda feel like a bad blogger because I don't actually have a shot of blossom on my insta feed.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I have a real issue with buying new products all the time. I always seem to pick up things that'll be bursting with colour and put them aside till the sunshine picks up. And now it's finally time to brighten my make up, like the sun is slowly brightening the days.

One thing I always do without fail, is change my foundation each season along with my skin care. Winter can cause havoc with my skin and it really does need some hydration and normally more coverage as I always get a fair few break outs in the darker months of the year. When it comes to spring/summer I love to go for a lighter foundation. So after looking through countless blog reviews and asking opinions on Twitter, I ignored everyone telling me how amazing NARS Sheer Glow was and picked up the All Day Luminous liquid foundation instead. Possibly the most watery foundation I own, but so so light on the skin. And the coverage is still medium to full. Only down fall, no SPF!

Now onto the highlights and blush. I seem to be including MUR in most of my posts at the moment, I'm yet to find a product I don't like from them. Their palettes are so picture perfect and the pigmentation is just unreal. I don't normally use blush, but the Blush Queen palette is just perfect to add a little colour to the cheeks, and I seem to be using it more and more. As much as the cheeks need a pop of colour, they always need to glow. I've been reaching for the Sleek Makeup highlighting palette in Solstice daily. The glow is blinding. I also can't seem to put down PIXI Beauty x Aspynovard Glow-y Powder in London Lustre, I can't quite pick which one I like best, it's definitely best not to use both because if I did, I think I'd be able to guide ships into port.

I've shared my love for Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks  time and time again. There's pretty much every colour you could ever want, I'm patiently waiting for new colours to drop. But my 3 go to colours at the moment are Bow n Arrow, Double Dare and Lolita 11. A pink, nude and peachy, basically my three go to lip colours this time of the year. You can read about them more here.

Something I've been trying to do a little more of, is adding a little colour to my eye looks and the MUR 144 ultimate matte eyeshadow collection is a god send for this. When I first picked up this palette, I looked at some of the garish colours and thought to myself I'll never use those. Oh, how I was wrong, I'm currently loving adding a little touch of the bright colours into a basic smokey eye, or even just under my bottom lash line.

Along with the makeup routine having a switch up, I have a little shuffle around with my daily scents too. I mean, everyone has a certain scent for a certain season right? Prada sees me through the spring months. I mainly use Candy & Candy Florale, they are light and a mix of floral and musks. Which are both nearing the end and I really need to purchase both of them again.

Have you switched up your Spring makeup?

  15. Don't feel like a bad blogger for the lack of blossom shots...I don't even have Instagram (tut tut).

I have seen the Revolution blush palette and have been so tempted every time.. May just have to give in to temptation and go for it.
