* Complementary meal*

It's almost time for Foodie Fortnight to kick off again in Southampton & now it's time for you to see why you need to be counting down the days until 23rd September ready to get redeeming all the deals that take your fancy.

We've always been lucky in Southampton as there has always been an array of restaurants to choose from, then add in all the new developments & we're spoilt for choice. I do love going out for a meal & often try new places but I still haven't got around to ticking them all off of my list, if you're the same as me, then Foodie Fortnight is our chance to try as many as we can fit in!

Foodie Fortnight starts from 23rd September until 6th October, plenty of time to fill our faces with all the food while not breaking the bank. It's a two week event that let's us all eat out for less & it's super simple, just head over to the website (or click here) have a look through all the deals & see what takes your fancy, once you choose what you want, click grab this deal, follow the instructions but make sure you book a table & mention to the venue that you have a foodie fortnight discount deal. If you're going in a group you can all grab the deal & if one of you doesn't fancy the deal & goes rouge, that's fine too! There is no limit to how many deals you can use over the two weeks, go to them all if you want!

I know we all have our favourite places & favourite food but with deals as cheap as £10 it would be a waste not to try them out, it's so easy to just do the same every time you eat out, so why not take this event as a chance to venture out of your comfort zone?

There's so many local venues taking part this year including Revolution de Cuba, Byron, HarBar on 6th, Grumpy Monkey and of course Mango Thai Tapas. There's a whole host of venues on the list that I haven't been to yet which needs to change. From afternoon tea to burger & a pint, there's something for everyone & it's kind to your bank account too!

Ahead of Foodie Fortnight Alice & I headed to Mango to try out their menu & see what they are offering for the event.

I won't lie, Mango is a firm favourite of mine which I've been to time & time again but Alice isn't a regular like myself so we were both looking forwards to visiting.
They are a family run business that have been in Southampton since 2007, they have 3 different venues, Ocean Village, Portswood & Above Bar which is the venue taking part in the event.

9 times out of 10 the service is really good with very attentive staff, luckily this was one of the 9 & we couldn't fault it, we were greeted warmly & could sit ourselves where we fancied. Drink menus were looked at straight away & chilled water was with us in minutes.

As it's a tapas restaurant, we dived in with those first opting for the sweetcorn & fresh mango fritters, vegetable spring rolls & crispy beef. Each one of the tapas were really nice & I would order them over & over again.

The deal at Mango is Curry, Rice & Dessert for £15 so popping a couple of tapas onto the order still makes it a very reasonable meal!

The deal at Mango includes the Green, Red & Golden curry with Jasmine Rice & Dessert all for £15 but Mango is also a very affordable restaurant so adding tapas won't cost you the earth & if you're going with someone that doesn't fancy curry, the menu is full of affordable meals...including the Yellow egg noodles which are my go to, so Alice & I shared the two meals between ourselves.

If they are on your list to visit then now is the time to go!
There are so many restaurants & venues around Southampton waiting to be discovered so I'd say this is the perfect time, I've already sent the website full of deals to loads of the girls I work with!

You can head over to Visit Southampton to keep in the loop with all the events coming up & their Instagram where they will be sharing all things Foodie Fortnight over the next could of weeks!

Have you seen any deals you're going to grab?
