Foodie Fortnight at Bill's

Sunday 29 September 2019
*Complementary meal*

Foodie Fortnight is now in full swing! You might have read my post about Mango just before the two week event kicked off but this time around I've been to Bill's to give their menu a try. There's so many places to go grab a bite to eat in Southampton, but let's be real, if we go & try everything it's going to become costly, which is exactly why you need to be taking advantage of the Foodie Fortnight deals available.
Go Southampton's foodie event is the perfect opportunity to go & try that place you've been meaning to go to for ages but never got around to it. Foodie Fortnight is full of so many affordable deals you'd be silly not try have a peek at them, which you can do here. From burger fries & a drink for £10 at Byron Burgers to a 2 course meal for 2 people for £15 at Bella Italia it'll be difficult to find a deal that doesn't take your fancy. Afternoon tea?✓ Fajitas & Mojito? ✓ Tapas? ✓ Brunch? ✓
See, Something for everyone!

But in this case, it's a dinner deal of 2 courses for £15 at Bill's

Bill's Southampton branch has recently been re-furbed so it's dreamy as ever in there at the moment.
As their deal is a dinner one, a group of us popped by one evening to try out their set menu ready for the foodie event to start! Sometimes you hear the words set menu & think "oh brilliant, not much choice" but oh how wrong that would be. Of course the menu is smaller than their usual but there's still a good choice of food on offer.

While we were looking over the menu we all treated ourselves to a cocktail & I opted for a Pimm's Spritz,my gosh was it good & also hits you like a truck so, you've been warned!

The set menu has options for Starters, Main & Dessert, so you can choose to either have a starter or dessert, their is a fair few options on there.

Starters
Rosemary, Pea Hummus & Garlic Sourdough (Vegan)
Chicken & Leek Terrine
Pea & Watercress Soup (Vegan)
Crispy Calamari
Chicken & Sesame Dumplings

Of course I went for the dumplings, one of my favourite things to eat & they did not disappoint. They were cooked to perfection & the Bill's spicy chutney went so well with them.
Next course anyone?

Mains
Carrot, Cashew Nut & Mushroom Wellington (Vegan)
Minute Steak
Burger of the Week (Changes each week)
Asian Chicken Salad
Pan Fried Sea Bass
Today's Dinner Special, which was Salmon (Changes Daily)

I went with the minute steak with garlic butter & fries, I know, not very adventurous but it was really good, the steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it, the butter added that little zest of flavour that you need & the fries were a crispy dream.
Something sweet take your fancy?

Now as Bill's deal was for two courses, I paid for my dessert & also my cocktail which really wouldn't had racked the bill up if that was something you'd want to do too!

Dessert
Bill's Ice creams & Sorbet (Veggie)
Warm Triple Chocolate Brownie (Veggie)
Coconut Ice cream (Vegan)
Strawberry Eton Mess (Veggie)

When Brownies & ice cream is on offer I rarely say no...although I kinda wish I had, I wasn't personally a fan of this one but the other person that had it loved it, apparently I'm a brownie snob.

Now you've seen all the food & what's on offer it's time for you to have a little look at the deals & decide what you're going for. It's really simple, you just have to pop over to the Foodie Fortnight website or click here , click on the deal & redeem it. If you're going with people then they can do the exact same & you all have the deal. There's no limit to how many deals you use,so you may as well take full advantage.

Foodie Fortnight is running from 23rd Sept - 6th Oct, so you now officially have a week left to eat everything you can!
Where are you going first?
