A Year Of Products

Sunday 4 March 2018

My plan at the beginning of the year was to do a round up of products that have been getting a lot of attention from me over the last few months, some of them being new to the beauty stash, some of them being old faves and even some I've been lusting after and finally got my hands on.
We may be 3 months into the year now but fuck it, Ima do this post any way! (mainly because I made such a mess getting all these bits together and that effort isn't about to be wasted)

Is this an over done blog post? yeah. Do I care? no. This kind of post always seems to be the one that others tweet about whether they should do it or not. Spoiler Alert if you want to then crack on.
I'm a sucker for a good favourites post and will always read one when I see it. You can almost guarantee that nobody will ever produce the same faves post and I always end up finding new products to try.

This post is full of things I've picked up over the last 12 months, some fairly new and I'm still lusting over others are old faves that I will forever hype up.
Pre-warning - There's a lot I like rn.

This is going to be a long list so lets get to it;

Soap & Glory Face Wash - I've always been a fan of S&G specially their little tongue and cheek jokes on products. I had seen this face wash everywhere, I even picked it up in boots and put it back for some reason (!?!?) but my mum had it in her big S&G Christmas hamper which quickly fell into my hands and I haven't stopped using this face wash since.

Superdrug Coconut Water Hair Mask - I picked this up by chance when my hair was longer and in a pretty sorry state, it was in a real need of moisture and this little gem delivered. I've continued using this for months now and I think I'm on my third pot of it. My hair has never been so shiny and for all of £3.99 I'm am here for this coconut dream. Also CF & Vegan.

Superdrug Vitamin E Day & Night Creams - I can not tell you how much money I have spent trying to find moisturisers that suited my skin, if only I knew the £2.99 drug store range would be the one. Since trying The Body Shops Vit E range I knew my skin was a fan, so when I spied Superdrugs own Vit E range I picked up a few essentials that I was running low on to try out next. Which has now resulted in me buying the Dry oil, Melting Hot Cloth Cleanser and Body Lotion. So yeah, would recommend giving that range a bash.

TZone Black Peel Off Mask I mean, I have to admit that I was a twat first time round and put it on like an actual face mask...fully regretted that. I soon came to realise that this mask was to be put on problem areas like the T zone (shock) and chin. Well mainly your areas where pores and black heads are an issue, hurts like fuck to take off. Never just rip it off in one go , slow and steady and you will have some skin left! I joke, it's painful but not that bad, I definitely noticed a difference in my problem areas though.

Face Inc Pods - I first spied these as a Christmas collection in boots so of course I nabbed my self one to try out. Each pod is different, some are peel off masks, some are overnight masks and there's even a serum in the collection. If anyone knows me they would know I'm an absolute sucker for a face mask, specially new ones, I can't not buy new stuff. Personally I'm impressed with the range, but not the individual pricing of each pod (£5) but I've got a full review coming!

L'Oreal Fine Flowers Cleansing Wipes I haven't been a face wipe girl ever, my skin has always reacted badly to them so I've avoided them since I was about 14. Until now, I tried the entire Fine Flowers collection and actually loved it, the collection helped to clear up my troubled skin while not irritating the sensitive side of it. I buy these wipes in the Dry-Sensitive type as I found the Normal-Combination wipes actually irritates my skin.

Sanctuary Spa Bubble Sheet Mask - This is my all time favourite sheet mask and the only sheet mask I will happily spend £5 on. I say that, I'm yet to actually pay full price as its either on offer its self or in a 3for2 offer at boots but it's so worth it. It's a purifying mask with thousands of mircobubbles getting to work as soon as it's on your face. You can feel the microbubbles working so it tickles a little but it also foams on the outer layer so it's also fun to watch. Honestly, give it a go!

Soap & Glory Speed Plump Mask - I couldn't tell you how many of these masks I've been through since they launched. I mean the whole collection is pretty fab and I use them all but this Hydrogel sheet mask is my most used. It's like a quick boost of moisture and boom, your skin is looking great. It's my go to for when my skin is looking a little dry and really does make a difference.

Jo Malone Fragrances - This is probably my most "luxury" purchase and it took me some time to actually get something Jo Malone. My first fragrance was Nectarine Blossom & Honey which I managed to choose by attending one of the fragrance matches that you can book in with a local Jo Malone to help you find your fragrance. You blindly test different scents until there's one that stands out to you and then you have a  hand & arm massage with the products of that fragrance. On my scent match I was gifted a mini that mixed well with what I had chosen which was my next fragrance to appear in my collection, Peony & Blush Suede. If you are temped to treat yourself to a Jo Malone fragrance I would 100% recommend attending a fragrance match.

Spectrum Brushes - Fire Brush Set -  I'll be honest, when the Mean Girls Collection happened I was straight on there, but then they arrived damaged so my first Spectrum purchase was a downer and then my mum restored my faith when surprising me with the Fire brush set for Christmas. Of course they were everything you'd want them to be. Soft, pretty, good application & they wash up well too. Although it actually took me a good month before I started to use them because I didn't want to ruin them. Glad I got stuck in now though! Spectrum as a brand are amazing too.

L'Oreal Paradise Mascara - I saw this doing the rounds on social media and everyone loving it... so of course I picked it up too. I have really long and full lashes so I'm extra fussy when it comes to mascara I usually hate high street ones but this one is an exception. I was so impressed by this mascara that my Benefit Roller Lash went in the bin ( I had been using roller lash since it launched). It really does volumise and lengthen with out any flakiness!

Maybelline Brow Tattoo - Ever spy a product and think Fuck me that looks terrifying? Well that's exactly what I thought when I saw this brow tint but picked it up anyway, I mean, it's not permanent so whats the worst that could happen? You can paint this on your brows like lipgloss to the shape you desire and either leave on for 20 mins, 2 hours or all night. I went with 20 mins and it did just the trick. Now my brows looks fuller and in better shape too.

Kat Von D - Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette - I wanted this, then I didn't, then I got the Make Up Rev dupe and wanted the real thing. I got it as a birthday present in the end and I couldn't be happier with it! It's such a versatile palette but also comes with a guide on how to use the quads inside the palette. An absolute neutral dream, but you can always crack a little glitter or colour out to spruce it up every now and then. The shades are super pigmented and blend really well, I'm very temped to get the glimmer version now!

Urban Decay Ultimate Basics - I don't know why, but I always said that the Naked palettes didn't stand out to me..that was until the Naked Heat came into my life and I realised what an utter dream the UD palettes are. I then set my sights on the Ultimate basics and was not disappointing once I finally owned it. There's very very little fall out, the shades are pigmented and blendable. Honestly its a dream of a basic palette. Not sure what made we wait so long!

The Birth of Venus - Jelly Face Mask - Jelly face mask sounds weird right? but no, they are delightful. Lush have a total of 5 jelly masks and this one is absolutely my favourite. I think its because The Birth of Venus mask just smells so fresh? The texture, once worked into the skin is creamy and my skin always feels super clean after use. Although it annoys me that these pots count towards a free face mask but the jelly masks are excluded....

Flowering Tea Bubble Bar - Hands down my favourite bubble bar, I've re bought it so many times now. Slightly annoyed that for some reason it became an "exclusive" so I either haul it when I'm in London or just check the website regularly to see if it's back in stock. Anyway, the most calming bubble bar ever, with little corn flowers inside that cascade into the tub too!

Sleepy Lotion - Lets be real, who doesn't bloody love Sleepy?  Not only has this lotion helped the entire blogging world sleep but I've found it really handy to pop on before writing an essay (I bloody hate writing essays so I stress easily) The scent is really soothing in any situation and really does help a busy mind settle for a while.

Snow Fairy Body Spray - Unfortunately I can't link it because its no longer available. It of course was a festive special and came out as an exclusive through December. I love Snow Fairy and stock up so I have enough to last me for as long as possible so there wasn't a chance that I wouldn't buy the body spray. It's VERY strong, one spray to walk through and you smell like candy for the entire day. I'm very happy I managed to get it!

And there we have it, my very long list of things I've loved over the last year, well done if you made it this far!
Are there any products there that you have already tried?
