Soap & Glory | The Mask Force

Sunday 17 September 2017

If there's a new collection of face masks you can guarantee I'm straight on it. Everyone has their beauty weakness and mine is well and truly face masks. Honestly, my collection overwhelms me but I'm still going to pick a couple up next time I find myself wondering around my local drugstore. I will try any face mask on offer, but I do lean towards a good sheet mask. I had popped into my local Boots a couple of times for these masks but there was only the odd one there. After having a bit of a bad day I popped into Boots just to get a drink and almost walked past the whole collection, cue a double take and a little inside happy dance. I grabbed them all, totally forgot the drink though.

I ended up with a couple of each mask because I hate to try something once and then rave about it, I'm a firm believer in using skincare often before even contemplating a review. If I'm honest, I didn't hate any of them, but I definitely do have favourites that I will buy time and time again. I've used Soap & Glory for years and their products have never failed to impress me, I love everything from the packaging of products to the quirky quotes. So let's have a run down of all the masks.

Speed Plump - I'm starting with this one as it's my fav. It's a Hydrogel mask, I'm fully swaying towards this kind of sheet mask. I had never used a hydrogel mask before this one and instantly fell in love with the concept of it. This mask is a good little treat for dry / dehydrated skin. I used this mask when my skin was feeling a little dryer than normal and it pretty much gave me an instant boost and my skin was visibly hydrated. Some of the ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid, Soap & Glorys own FlowerPower - 3 complex which includes Rosa Rugosa, Safflower & Peony extracts. The mask is also scented with sweet orange peel oil. The mask it's self comes as a two piece and fits really well on the face. I find some masks can be over sized but this one is just right.

Puffy Eye Attack - Another Hydrogel treat. Hydrating under eye patches that help to refresh and revitalise tired eye. I legit need a life time supply of these, worlds sleepiest girl over here. I found these really cooling and most definitely refreshing, as they are hydrogel they sat really well under my eyes and didn't irritate at all. You almost forget they are there. There's Puffease Technology, a tetrapeptide to reduce dark circles and puffiness, Liquorice root extract, Cucumber fruit juice extract and Hyper - Hydrators all packed into these little patches. The darkness around my eye definitely reduced after using these. Would buy again.

Bright + Beautiful - We're now back on to the usual sheet mask, but it's definitely not as basic as some sheet masks available. This one is absolutely saturated in serum, I'm literally holding the packet from the mask I used as I write this and it's pretty much still half full of product. Okay so first thing you notice is how wet the mask is, second is the scent as it's so up lifting. Some of the ingredients include White Flower Brightening Complex, Lotus Flower, Cherry Blossom and Rooibos Tea Extract not forgetting a boost of Vitamin C. This mask is perfect for when your skin is looking a little dull, it revitalises the skin as well as having the perfect scent for when you need a little boost, you can definitely smell the Pink Grapefruit and Mint oils as soon as you open the foil. I'm planning on always having one of these handy.

What a Peeling - I can't honestly remember the last time I used a peel off mask, mainly because they usually hurt and I like the skin on my face. This one is a little different, it starts off as a liquid gel and changes to a paper like texture once its dried to the skin, also bright pink in colour which I love. I have to say, it definitely does declog as long as you don't use too much product. If you layer it on too thick it won't set properly. Some of the ingredients include Kaolin and Clay Powders, Vitamin C & E as well as Oolong Tea, Lentil Seed, Sage, Camomile and Ginger Extracts. Couldn't really tell you if this one smelt great or not as I was too distracted by the bright pink face I was sporting, but it does work a treat and isn't painful to remove at all.

The Fab Pore - Another sheet mask but again not so basic. There's so much product in the foil and the mask is again saturated, which I love. This mask is great for oily / combination skin. It really helps to smooth out the skin, refine visible pores and control that shine. I actually used this one before getting ready for a night out and I don't thing my makeup has ever gone on better. Again there's lots of fab ingredients including Blot - A - Lot technology, White Willowbark, Lemon Balm, Tea Tree, Lavender, Eucalyptus and Mint. The scent is what I would expect from a mask like this, I can only describe it as clean and fresh. I normally feel like Pore Refining can be a bit rubbish but this mask has changed my opinion completely.

So there we have the whole Mask Force collection. As I was writing this post I realised that there isn't a single mask I don't like, I normally always find a fault! Guess I'll just keep buying them all.
Have you tried any of the Soap & Glory masks?
